Major Themes - The bonds of sisterhood This theme represents how important the bond between sisters are. Anna and Kate value their bond beyond measure even though there is a barrier due to Kate illness. - The thin line between right and wrong This theme represent how often what is right and what is wrong blend together because everyone has a different definition of what is right and what is wrong. - The contrast between appearance and reality This theme describes how often what is seen on the outside is not reality. You never truly know what goes on behind closed doors.
Favorite Quote "Neither of them understood like I did, like Jesse did- that no matter who you are, there is some part of you that always wishes you were someone else- and when, for a millisecond, you get that wish, it’s a miracle.”(137-138)
This is my favorite quote from the novel because it shows the connection between siblings and the hidden knowledge that they have about each other.
